2024 DESY Summer Student Programme (Fully Funded) in Germany

An eight-week training programme to experience research in one of the many fields DESY, Germany, pursues is offered to prospective summer students in 2024. Bachelor's degree holders, those pursuing a bachelor's degree soon, and those who have finished their bachelor's degree and are currently enrolled in master's degree programmes are all eligible to apply for the DESY Summer Students programme. The programme will be financed and the associated costs will be met by DESY.

The dates of the 2024 DESY Summer programme are July 16, 2024, through September 5, 2024. The chosen applicants will conduct research at Zeuthen (Berlin) or Hamburg's DESY Laboratory. Anyone from any country may participate in the DESY programme. It is expected of summer students to work 39 hours a week. More details about the program are given below.

Eligibility Criteria

  • At least three years of full-time university education by the summer of 2024
  • Students who will be in the following two stages in the summer of 2024 are the primary target audiences:
  • Their bachelor's degree is about to be awarded to them.
  • They are pursuing a master's degree and hold a bachelor's degree.
  • Those who have earned a master's degree already or who plan to do so by the summer of 2024 will not be considered.

Documents Needed

  • Upload a single file with the following contents, only in PDF format:
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Certificates at the university level (such as a bachelor's degree, credit points, etc.)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A work permit is required for participation in the DESY Summer Student Programme in Germany for applicants from non-EU and non-EEA nations. Please submit a different second document that is contained in a single PDF file.
  • A duplicate of your foreign passport
  • Your university sent along an enrollment certificate. It must encompass the entire programme period, which runs from the beginning of July to the middle of September 2024.
  • Furthermore, the so-called "Declaration of Certificate of Enrollment," which is also necessary and needs to be signed and stamped by your university, is required by the Central Working Agency in Bonn. covering the same time frame (July through mid-September, 20234). Result of Application
